Creating A Second Partition In Your External SD card

Hello, Today I am starting my blog with this article explaining how to create a second partition in your external Sd card in your Android Phone. Many times we find difficult to install big apps and games because of low storage in our android phone. We need to create an alternative to boost storage space by linking some apps and games to the external SD card. This is done by moving app data to the SD card and thus creating space for new apps and games.

Requirements:
  • A rooted android phone. If your device is not rooted, you can check here on how to root your android device - How to root android
  • An empty or new memory card (8GB and above is better) - If you already have a Mem card, Make sure to backup your files stored in your memory card since it needs to be formatted
  • Application used for creating the partition - App2SD
To start the process, follow the steps below:
  1. Download App2SD pro from here Download From Google Playstore
  2. Open the app and it will ask for root permissions. Grant it root access when prompted and you will see many options as shown in the screenshot below.

  3. Scroll down to the Partition Tool and select it. There you will find your External Sd card storage and here you will see a line that will let you partition the storage of your card. Drag the line to any amount of storage you want to partition and then tick fat32 and ext4 file system. Then select the yes icon at the bottom.

  4. This will ask you for permission to format your Memory card, so before you do this process you need to backup all your files stored in the memory card. Proceed by selecting yes and you will wait for the app to format your memory card and create a second partition which will allow you to move big apps and games and even your system apps to the memory card.
  5. From there you won't be having problems with low storage in your phone.  Stay tuned for more tips and tricks. Thank you for visiting my blog.
